Today's drama staged by the Czech police was a great and expensive exercise in futility. 4 SWAT teams from all over the place, 6 terrorist stand-ins, 25 hostages, 30 journalists and 2 streetcars. The drama unfolds with the helicopter circling and the cameras rolling. A blast of fire and smoke sets up the scene, just to give it an atmosphere, no other reason at all. Thirty armed policemen (without bullet-proof vests) storm the tram, smash down the windows, shoot all the terrorists, free hostages, take a group selfie. Now there will be evaluation, that is going to determine, how well they performed. I am no expert in these matters, but imagine being a terrorist, who knows he is probably going to bite the bullet. Would you really wait for the commando's to approach, or would you, protected by the walls of the car, and the hostages, open fire? How many hostages would survive then?
This was one big BS baroque theatre production staged by the ministry of interior and the police. Yes, they have to justify the recently spent 11 million (which is really nothing and probably went to buy those two brand new „hook and ladder” trucks. Oh, wait, there are elections coming up! Now it all makes sense.
